Dr. Chaninah Zweihorn was born and raised in New York City. He attended grade school at Breuer’s and Yeshiva University High School. He then studied history and chemistry at Queens College, where he received numerous academic distinctions, including membership in Phi Beta Kappa.
After completing his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude, Dr. Zweihorn attended New York University College of Dentistry on a full-merit scholarship, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) in 2003. At NYU, Dr. Zweihorn engaged in biomedical research and was chosen to represent the College at the scientific presentations of the American Dental Association’s annual meeting. Dr. Zweihorn graduated from NYU with several honors and awards, including the American Association of Oral Biologists Award.
Upon earning his dental degree, Dr. Zweihorn entered residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, where he gained experience in all areas of dentistry and enjoyed the opportunity to help hospital in-patients with oral-health needs. He obtained his General Practice Resident certificate from Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Zweihorn decided to focus on orthodontics, the area of dentistry he loves most, and returned to NYU to complete certification in the specialty. Dr. Zweihorn is excited to provide the highest quality orthodontic treatment to the community and to continually implement the most effective and innovative techniques in orthodontics.
Dr. Zweihorn lives with his family in Queens, N.Y. He enjoys watching movies and Major League Baseball, and listening to music. Some of the professional organizations in which Dr. Zweihorn holds membership include
